Description : Acamprosate calcium is a gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA)agonist and modulator of glutamatergic systems. It has been used in alcohol dependence treatments and may be an effective augmentation therapy in patients with treatment-resistant anxiety. It has low bioavailability, but also has an excellent tolerability and safety profile. It is unique in that it is not metabolized by the liver and is also not impacted by alcohol use, so it can be administered to patients with hepatitis or liver disease and to patients who continue drinking alcohol. It was approved for use in the therapy of alcohol dependence and abuse in the United States in 2004. - Molecular Weight :400.48
- Melting Point :270 °C
